How does renting work?
Choose your dates on the piece’s page. A rental lasts 3 to 14 days (a seller may ask for a longer minimum) and starts at least 4 days and up to 90 days ahead. You pay the daily price for each day, the courier both ways and any deposit, all shown before you pay.
Rental guideWhen do I pay for a rental?
You pay the rental fee and both courier trips when you book. If the piece ships within the next week, the deposit is paid then too. Booked further ahead, the deposit is charged to your saved card 7 days before the seller ships, and we email you 2 days before that charge.
Rental guideWhat is the deposit, and when do I get it back?
A lister can ask for a refundable deposit of up to R5,000. Sharara’s payment partner holds it, not the lister. If the lister raises no claim within 48 hours of the piece coming back, you get the whole deposit back.
Rental guideCan I cancel a rental?
Yes, until the piece has been sent. Cancel 14 days or more before the start for a full refund. From 7 to 13 days before, 50% of the rental fee is kept; under 7 days, 75%. Your deposit and both courier trips are always refunded. Once the piece has been sent, the rental can’t be cancelled.
Rental guideHow do I return a rented piece?
We book the return courier for your end date. Pack it with everything it came with and hand it over by the end of the next day. Don’t wash, alter or repair it; if something happens to it, tell Sharara support.
